A bilateral agreement between India and France

France president François Hollande and Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi participated in “India-France Business Summit and discussed on bilateral issues. France will help India in transforming 3 Indian cities namely Chandigarh, Nagpur and Pondicherry into smart cities.

Key Points of this bilateral agreement:

  • India and France signed 16 different bilateral agreements. Which include Solar Power Projects and Manufacturing of Helicopters.
  • India has agreed to buy 32 Rafale and 39 Aeroplanes from France.
  • To improve the mutual cooperation between both countries, both have agreed to host “India Summit in 2016 and “France Summit in 2017.
  • It was the second visit of President Hollande to India. Previously he visited India in the year 2013.
