Princess of Thailand Maha Chakri Sirindhorn was awarded the first “World Culture Prize”on November 21 by Vice President Hamid Ansari. This award was given for her contribution to the promotion of Sanskrit language.
The Contribution of Maha Chakri Sirindhorn in World Sanskrit Conference:
- Last year in 2015,she had played an important role in the 16th “World Sanskrit Conference” which was held in Bangkok. It was a 5-day conference which was attended by Sanskrit scholars from 60 countries.
- Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn is the daughter of the late King of Thailand Bhumibol Adulyadej.
- She is the follower of Buddhist religion and has been awarded the “Indira Gandhi Prize” in 2004.
